Adrian’s story – National Volunteer Week 2018

Adrian – CT Passenger Administrator

I began volunteering as an administrator for CT passenger services so that I could improve my CV by gaining additional skills and work based skills.

Before volunteering I would spend my time looking for employment and attending courses. This can become quite repetitive so I thought that volunteering would help to mix my week up and give me something to do.

I have a number of skills that I have brought to the administrator role, which have included planning, report writing, and working with customers to ensure they get what they need from the service I am offering.

Not only have I found volunteering enjoyable and worthwhile, I have also improved my job prospects by completing data entry tasks and learning new software programs.
